Dedicated Hosting
Our web-servers only host websites developed and/or managed by Sitemakers. For this reason we are able to ensure the integrity and reliability of the service.
Servers are connected to the internet using a fully redundant network. The network is built by combining several reliable transit providers where routes are constantly analysed and updated to ensure that data from the servers gets to those downloading it via the shortest route and quickest time.
The servers are housed in a London hosting centre situated in the heart of London’s Docklands. The data centre has exceptional facilities which are important for the provision of high up-time hosting services and support.

Monitoring
Our server architecture includes automated monitors that check routers, switches, server load, memory usage, CPU activity, disk integrity, bandwidth, and scores of other system vitals.
Disaster Recovery
We carry out daily backups of all database information to alternative off-shore data centres. As standard we use NAS (network attached storage) for backups which means that backups are all external to the servers themselves.
Maintenance
In the rare event that we need to take a server off-line to perform updates and hardware maintenance, where possible, this is done out of normal working hours to ensure minimum disruption to your service.
Bandwidth
We define server usage as ‘bandwidth’ as this is a strong indicator of the resources being used by your website. This usage covers traffic to and from your website, emails and mySQL Queries, all of which affect CPU Load.
